TEACHING EXPERIENCE

English Instructor: Cerritos College, Norwalk, CA 6/00 to present
Instruct students in both pre-college and college level writing courses through writing assignments, lectures, group activities, oral presentations and other forms of instruction which allow the students to critically and actively understand how to write clear and concise reports and essays.

Instruct students in college level writing courses through writing assignments, lectures, group activities, oral presentations and other forms of instruction which allow the students to critically and actively understand how to write clear and concise reports and essays.

Tutor: Cypress College Writing Center, Cypress, CA 8/99 to 5/00
By appointment, the students can spend time with the tutor inquiring about any part of the writing process from brainstorming to a final read-through. The students can ask for assistance on grammar, sentence structure, content, and related writing problems.

In the Writing Center, students are required to ask for the tutor’s assistance on  grammar, sentence structure, content, and related writing problems.

SOAR Advisor: California State University, Long Beach, CA 6/99 to 8/99
The Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) advisor assists incoming Freshmen and Transfer students to become oriented with the California State University system with an emphasis on their transition to California State University, Long Beach.

Substitute Teacher: Long Beach Unified School District, Long Beach, CA 10/98 to 6/00
Substitute for the class’s regular teacher by continuing with the regular teacher’s lesson plans, teaching the students, ensuring all the student’s needs are met and keeping the regular teacher’s established discipline.

Maintain the day-to-day functions of the Writing Lab through verification of appointments, insure that the computers were operational, and maintain the efficiency of the lab through accurate student records.
